Eric Andersen serves as chief executive officer of Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance business of Aon plc, and the world’s leading reinsurance intermediary and full-service capital advisor. Andersen most recently served as CEO of Aon Risk Solutions Americas, based in New York City. In this role, he was responsible for leading Aon’s largest geographic business with teams in the United States, Canada and Latin America. He also played a key role as a leader of Aon Risk Solutions’ Global Executive Committee, which guides the operations of the business unit. Throughout his career at Aon, Andersen has served in a number of important leadership positions, including U.S. retail field leader, CEO of Aon Global Americas’ global account segment, co-national managing director of Aon Financial Services Group and resident managing director of Aon in Southern California. He first joined Aon in 1997 via the firm’s acquisition of Minet. Prior to that he was based in London with Alexander Howden, which subsequently also was acquired by Aon. Andersen earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Colgate University. He sits on the board of Covenant House New Jersey, an organization that helps homeless, at-risk and runaway youth in New Jersey.
