Allen, Mooney and Barnes founder and chairman , M. H. Allen, Jr., has served the wealth community in Thomasville, GA, Tallahassee, FL, and the Southeast investment communities for almost 40 years. Allen’s early experiences as an officer of the C&S Bank, now Bank of America, and as City Manager and City Treasurer for over 10 years provided him a solid foundation in management and money management. As City Manager for Thomasville, he served on the Georgia Municipal Association’s Revenue and Finance Committee. In 1985 he founded Allen & Mooney (A&M) and affiliated with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith Inc. In 1987 A&M affiliated with Shields & Company, a NYSE member firm, and Capital Management Associates, the Investment Advisory division. In 2000, close friends and clients Kate Ireland and John P. “Jack” Frazee Jr. joined A&M as partners and board members. Miss Ireland was a limited partner of Brown Brothers Harriman in NY, a member of the Federal Reserve’s district board in Cleveland, and a well-known national philanthropist. Mr. Frazee was the CEO and Chairman of Centel phone company and COO and board member of Sprint now T-Mobile. These partners formed FAIM, LLC ( Frazee, Allen, Ireland, and Mooney) the holding company for A&M’s broker dealer and registered Investment Advisory firm. Under this framework A&M added the Professional Services division located in Thomasville GA and the Investment Banking division in Charleston, SC and Atlanta, GA, and the Private Equity group in Thomasville and Charleston. Allen holds several FINRS/SEC principal licenses and is insurance licensed in several states. Allen received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in economics, management, and marketing from Georgia Southern University in 1973.
