Oscar García-Cabeza started his career in 1997 in AB Asesores where he held the position of director. In 1999 he joined UBS Warburg where he was responsible for the execution of Corporate Finance Operations for the Private Banking division. In 2001 he joined Alantra as an Executive Director of the Corporate Finance area. Currently, he is Managing Partner of Alantra’s M&A area and responsible for the Financial Institutions Group team. Mr. García-Cabeza has been involved in more than 40 operations, highlighting recently the advice to: G6: Banco Santander, BBVA, Caixabank, Banco Popular, Banco Sabadell & Bankia, on Project Phoenix, which consists mainly in the management of debt in highly leveraged companies but viable FROB on the privatization of Catalunya Banc, successfully acquired by BBVA for €1.187 m Catalunya Banc on the sale of a Credit Portfolio at face value of €6.392 m. through a structured operation where Blackstone invested €3.615 m Bankia on the sale of Bancofar, a bank focused on customers from the pharmaceutical sector with a total assets of c. €1,6bn Bankia on the divestment of its subsidiaries Liberbank on its capital increase amounted to €600m.
