Dr. Karen Gantsho is leading all our social investment activities and is responsible for mobilising co-investment partnerships. For example, during the Covid 19 pandemic , the Afris Empowerment Trust, in collaboration with the Karen Gantsho Foundation, provided food parcels as a temporary relief to communities in a village in the Eastern Cape. 1500 households were reached. More sustainably, she led our assistance to the same communities where we provided reliable access to clean running water by equipping existing water extraction boreholes with solar powered pumps and solar panels. The intervention replaced diesel engines and reduced fuel costs for the communities. Qualifications: BA in Communication – Bond University MA in Marketing and Branding – University of Johannesburg Ph.D in Entrepreneurship & Branding – University of Pretoria.
