In a distinguished career spanning over 45 years, Prasada Rao has led the national laboratory Indian Institute of Petroleum as its chief executive, served in senior roles at leading public sector institutions in India such as Fertilizer Corporation of India and Indian Petrochemicals Corporation (now part of Reliance Industries Limited), and advised the boards and management of a number of companies around the world. Rao brings a deep understanding of the oil and gas, chemicals, and energy industries in emerging economies, global refining and chemical markets, innovation and technology for competitive advantage, and organizational leadership. He holds bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in chemistry from Andhra University, has published numerous papers and patents, and has been recognized with a number of awards and honors including the PETROTECH Lifetime Achievement Award presented by India’s Prime Minister in 2014.
