Chairman
and access,
Terry is ACF’s Chairman and brings a wealth of experience following 25 years in the media and entertainment sector. Previously, he had a long career as a client service partner with Grant Thornton UK. He founded the firm’s Media and Entertainment team, based on an ethos of helping clients to achieve their goals through a combination of a thorough understanding of, and immersion in, the Media Industry together with an anticipation of clients’ needs across all areas of accounting, corporate finance and tax. As part of that anticipation, he recruited Thomas Dey to head up the M&A side of the team to take advantage of changing legislation in UK Television. Largely due to this approach, over the next ten years the Grant Thornton Media team grew into one of the leading practices of its type in the UK. Terry is also a non-executive Director of a number of businesses in the Media Industry, including Embankment Films, Dialsquare 86 (TRX) and Acamar Films. He has also served on the non-executive Boards of both Grant Thornton (UK) and Grant Thornton International. Terry left Grant Thornton in 2014 and has continued to work with a number of his former clients in a non-executive capacity, but still likes to roll his sleeves up and get his hands dirty! He divides his time between London, Hampshire and Spain and enjoys travel, running, motorcycling and watching Millwall FC. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
