Patrick Whelan founded Pegasus in 1997. Mr. Whelan's career in the leveraged buyout, venture capital and investment banking industries spans nearly thirty years. Mr. Whelan was recently honored as one of the "Most Influential Private Equity Investors in Los Angeles" by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Mr. Whelan leads the investment activities at Pegasus. His contributions include identifying target companies, structuring transactions and supporting management teams post-transaction as an active Board member. Mr. Whelan currently serves as a Director of Santier and Jackrabbit and is Chairman of Midwest Automotive Designs. He is the former Chairman of WeatherGuard Building Products, Shield Pack and TOG Manufacturing and is a former Director of Borga, Calwax and Design Space. Prior to founding Pegasus, Mr. Whelan completed merger and acquisition transactions as a Co-Managing Director for Broadview International, a leading M&A investment banking firm that was acquired by Jefferies & Company. For the six previous years, Mr. Whelan held senior positions in two different private equity firms: Abacus Ventures of Greenwich, CT and InterFirst Ventures of Dallas, TX. During his tenure at these firms, he made numerous investments in rapidly growing companies. Mr. Whelan was a founding investor and served on the Board of Directors of TranSwitch Corporation (NASDAQ) and Teleos Communications (NASDAQ). Mr. Whelan holds a MBA degree in Finance from The Wharton School and is an Honors graduate of Vanderbilt University with a dual degree in Economics and Computer Science.
