Joaquim is responsible for GED Sur and transactions in Portugal. He joined GED in 2004. He has been Financial Director at CIB, SA, (Ciments Français). From 1990 until 1996, he was Director of Investments for the holding company of the Grupo Amorim and, thereafter, Managing Director of PME Capital (Portugal Ventures). He has been operational responsible for the Portuguese part’s management of Galicia-Northern Portugal Private Equity Fund (Interreg). He has a large experience in investments and management of companies in various sectors such as production of cork (Corticeira Amorim), textiles (Somelos Group), copper cable (Cabelauto), tires (Mabor General), fiber optics (Cabetel), pharmaceutical (Bluepharma) and furniture (Mercatus) among others. Joaquim holds a Business Administration MBA, a degree in Applied Mathematics, and another in Accounting and Administration from the University of Porto
