Since 1998, Tom has led the private equity activities for Gallagher, completing over 20 acquisitions and five divestitures in a wide range of industries. He currently oversees all of the firm’s active investments. His extensive business and financial knowledge are an invaluable part of our firm’s success in creating long-term value for our portfolio businesses. Prior to Gallagher, Tom was the director of business development for American Medserve (AMC), a consolidator of institutional pharmacies and a portfolio company of Golder, Thoma, Cressey and Rauner. In his three years at AMC, he was involved with more than 15 acquisitions, AMC’s initial public offering and the sale of the company. Before moving to AMC, Tom spent seven years with Ernst & Young in Chicago, where he served as a manager in their mergers and acquisitions group. There he provided advisory services to both financial and strategic buyers on more than 25 leveraged buyout transactions in many different industries. Tom serves on the boards of Event Rents USA and Velocity Dynamics, and is a representative to the board of Environmental StoneWorks. He also served on the board of Profile Products. He is a CPA and holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
