Bio

Mr. Matsuura founded EFM Capital Partners in 2005 and has more than 20 years of corporate finance and private equity experience. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Pro-Motion Distributing (PMD), a wholesale distributor of high-performance automotive aftermarket parts. EFM made a private equity investment into PMD in partnership with DBI Capital in 2006. Prior to EFM, Mr. Matsuura was a Managing Director at Kinsman Capital from 1998 to 2004 where he co-managed a $150 million private equity fund. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Matsuura was a Managing Director at Pacific Corporate Group (“PCG”), where he co-managed a $2.5 billion direct private equity investment program for CalPERS as well as the direct-equity portion of two fund-of-funds vehicles managed by PCG. From 1986 to 1994, Mr. Matsuura was an integral part of Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance (“EYCF”) practice in New York and Los Angeles. While at EYCF, Mr. Matsuura acted as the financial advisor to companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and financings. He also advised Boards of Directors, management teams, bank lending groups, and creditors’ committees on corporate finance matters involving Chapter 11 and out-of-court restructuring proceedings. Mr. Matsuura earned his M.S. in Management from Purdue University in 1985 and his B.A. from Vassar College in 1980.
