He joined Corpfin in 2004, following four years at Telefónica, Spain’s largest telecommunications company. During this period he served as CFO of the Media Division, CEO of Via Digital, a pay-TV subsidiary and Group Controller. Mr. Lavilla spent 1993-2000 with Société Générale in Spain, where he led the structured finance unit, one of the leading players in Spanish structured and acquisition debt throughout the 1990s. In 1998 he was appointed Deputy Country Manager with responsibility for Société Générale’s direct private equity investment programme in Spain. From 1990, Mr. Lavilla worked at Citicorp Corporate Finance in Madrid. Mr. Lavilla began his career in 1987 with the Spanish branch of Citicorp Investment Bank, which he joined as a Manager Associate. From 2012 to 2014 Mr. Lavilla chaired the Spanish Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (ASCRI). He holds a degree in Business Administration and Law from ICADE (E-3), Madrid.
