Marshall Payne is a founding partner of CIC and its current Chairman of the Board. Previously, Marshall was a partner of Cardinal Investment Company, the predecessor of CIC, where he led its private equity practice and held various other roles. Marshall also currently serves as a director of CraftMark Bakery, Pogo Resources, Activa Resources, RMX Resources, and ACE HoldCo PBC. He is a former director of SPG, L&L Foods, OmniSYS, Dale Gas Partners, Ace Cash Express (Nasdaq: AACE) and Restoration Hardware (Nasdaq: RSTO). In addition, Marshall serves on the Board of Impact Dallas, a sponsor of for- profit impact investment funds, the first of which is the GrowSouth fund started in 2013. He is also a member of the Executive Advisory Council of the George W. Bush Presidential Center and a member of the Kalita Humphreys Theater Steering Committee. He has formerly served on the Madison Council of the Library of Congress and the Advisory Councils for The Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries and the Stanford University School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. Marshall is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Stanford University.
