Bio

Steve Unterberger is a managing director of Carrick Capital Partners where he is directly involved in providing growth-guidance based on his experience scaling successful technology companies. Steve works with CEOs and executive teams to manage the key drivers of value that help companies become market leaders. He is a metrics-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves collaborator, and a passionate mentor. He has unparalleled experience achieving operational excellence and applying practical, ROI-driven methods for using technology to drive revenue and improved business outcomes. Steve is an active member of the boards of several Carrick portfolio companies including Complia, Infrascale, Renalogic, Bishop Fox, and Flatiron School. Prior to joining Carrick, Steve served as Chief Solutions Officer for ServiceSource Inc. Earlier in his career, Steve co-founded Exult, Inc., the pioneer of human resources BPO for Global 500 corporations, with Jim Madden. Together they grew Exult from a concept to more than $500 million in revenue and led the company’s successful IPO in 2000. After Exult merged into Hewitt (NYSE: HEW) in an $800 million transaction, Steve joined Hewitt as Senior Vice President of Strategy Services. Before Exult, Steve was the US Executive Vice President of SHL Systemhouse, a $2 Billon IT Outsourcer. Steve earned his BA in economics from The University of Pennsylvania where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. In his spare time, Steve enjoys beach sports, traveling, family time and re-living his former glory as an LA based rock and roll guitarist.
