Mr. Irwin is the President of The Brookside Group, which he co-founded in 1977. He and his partners were innovators in the field of leveraged buyouts. He initially focused on the acquisition of public company divestitures and later a variety of control and co-investments in private companies. He has managed portfolio companies with significant global operations, helped develop one of the leading semiconductor encapsulates businesses in the early 1980s, and led an early privatization in Eastern Europe in the early 1990s. He also helped start two mid-market Private Equity firms: the Wicks Group and Clearview Capital, LLC. He co-founded and continues to support Brookside Mezzanine Partners and Brookside Equity Partners. He also helped start Soundview Real Estate Partners. He is a Vice Chairman of Kokino LLC and a director of Media Predict. Mr. Irwin is the Chairman of the Achelis and Bodman Foundation, President of the Watson Foundation, and a trustee of both the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Whiting Foundation. He is also a director of ConnCAN and a member and former Chair of the advisory board of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies. Mr. Irwin graduated from Princeton University.
