Brian D. Jones, Partner and Director of BankCap Partners, has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 2005, Mr. Jones co-founded BankCap, a private equity firm focused on investments in U.S. banks. Mr. Jones is on the firm’s Investment Committee and focuses on transaction sourcing and structuring, capital raising activities and oversight of BankCap’s portfolio investments. Mr. Jones serves on the board of Atlantic Capital Bankshares in Atlanta, GA, and previously served on the board of Xenith Bankshares in Richmond, VA, both BankCap portfolio companies. Mr. Jones worked as an investment banker at Bear Stearns & Co. from 1987-2002. He was a Senior Managing Director in its Financial Institutions Group initially in the Los Angeles office before transitioning to New York. In 2002, Mr. Jones joined Carreker Corporation (a financial services technology firm now owned by FiServ) as Executive Vice President responsible for M&A and strategic planning. Immediately prior to starting BankCap, Mr. Jones served as Director of Ministries at Park Cities Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jones received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
