Prior to joining Balance Point, Mr. Sauerteig founded BLS Strategic Capital, a Connecticut based wealth management and investment advisory firm that made private equity investments in a variety of industries including financial services, biotechnology, generic pharmaceuticals, software, cellular telephones and satellite radio. Previously, Mr. Sauerteig was President of First Spring Corporation, a New York-based private wealth management and investment company providing services solely to members of the Bronfman family. Through affiliated entities, he oversaw investments in a variety of industries including life insurance, financial services, oil and gas, luxury goods, shipping, entertainment and apparel manufacturing. Before First Spring, Mr. Sauerteig served as an Associate, Partner and Managing Partner at Bergman, Horowitz & Reynolds (now Withers Bergman), a Connecticut-based law firm. He began his career as an Associate with Dechert Price & Rhoads (now Dechert).
