Bio

Phil has been part of the Alta team since 1996 when he joined Alta Communications. During this time he has led numerous investments within the communications, media, information and business services industries. Since joining Alta, Phil has developed particular expertise with companies headquartered in unpopulated areas and those reached only by all day drives in rental cars or puddle-jumpers. Prior to joining Alta, Phil worked in the Investment Banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he participated in equity and high yield debt financings as well as merger and acquisition transactions for the communications and technology industries. Phil grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Bowdoin College with degrees in Economics and German. He currently lives in Brookline, MA with his wife and two young children. Outside of work Phil enjoys skiing, whitewater kayaking and the great state of Vermont. He continues to naively believe that his next investment will be found in close proximity to a Western ski town.
