Bio

Peter is responsible for leading Allstate Investments’ performance-based investment group, which makes fund and direct investments in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, opportunistic and agriculture/timber and has two private lending businesses: commercial mortgages and private credit. Previously a direct private equity investor, Peter joined Allstate in 2003 with a mandate to develop and expand our alternative assets business. From 2007 to 2010, he established and managed Allstate’s U.K.-based investment affiliate and later became Allstate Investments’ managing director of private equity. In that role, he was responsible for private equity portfolio strategy and leadership of our Chicago-, London- and Hong Kong-based private equity and infrastructure teams. Peter began his career in institutional real estate investment at LaSalle Partners (now JLL) and subsequently worked in private corporate investment at Northwestern Mutual Life. He has served on many fund advisory boards and been a director of numerous private companies and nonprofit organizations. Peter has an MBA from Northwestern University, an AB from Brown University and is a chartered financial analyst.
