Mr. Cai is the Chairman of AGIC. Prior to co-founding AGIC, Mr. Cai served as the Executive Chairman of Investment Banking Asia Pacific at Deutsche Bank. During his investment banking career, which spanned more than 20 years at leading European investment banks including UBS and BNP Paribas, he successfully identified Chinese privately-owned (POE) and state-owned enterprises (SOE) of great potential and actively advised and supported them on redefining business models, restructuring businesses, and executing growth strategies and overseas expansion to Europe and the U.S. As a result, he later listed these 200 POEs and SOEs overseas with a combined IPO value of over US$ 80bn. Early on he was nicknamed by the market as “Godfather of Chinese Private Enterprises”. Mr. Cai graduated from Fudan University.
