Bio

Prior to joining Aethon, Mr. Sander served as Vice President, Encana Oil and Gas (USA) Inc., where he led the Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU) and held responsibility for all strategic, financial, commercial, development and operational aspects of the MCBU. The MCBU included operations in the Haynesville Shale, Barnett Shale, East Texas, Permian, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, Eaglebine, and Mississippian Carbonate. In this role, Mr. Sander grew the business unit to cash flow of over $1.0 billion, managed development and exploration programs with budgets exceeding $1.5 billion, and led the acquisition and disposition of over $3.0 billion in assets. During his tenure, the compound average production growth exceeded 30%. Mr. Sander joined Encana in Calgary and was Team Lead of the Brooks North Sub-Business Unit. Prior to that, he held various leadership and technical positions with BP in Houston, Calgary, and Edmonton. He is recognized as a Professional Engineer by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). He has served on the boards of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, and Encana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., and is a former Trustee of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation. Mr. Sander graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. In addition, he completed the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
