Bilingual in Arabic and English, Naji Hawayek has over 15 years of experience advising on corporate matters, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa. He specialises in cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, private equity, investment funds, private placements, corporate restructurings, licensing and regulatory matters, Islamic finance and foreign direct investment. He has worked with clients operating in most business sectors, including hospitality. This experience extends to advising regional hospitality providers on multiple corporate transactions. Naji holds academic qualifications in common law, civil law and Shariah law. He graduated from the University of Westminster in London with a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in International Commercial Law ("Merit" awarded). He also completed his undergraduate law degree (LL.B) at Sagesse University in Beirut and a postgraduate degree in Islamic banking at the Institute of Islamic Banking & Insurance in London. Naji is admitted to the Beirut Bar Association and is a "Registered Foreign Lawyer" with the Solicitors Regulation Authority in the UK. He is also a member of the International Bar Association. He joined Clyde & Co’s Dubai office in June 2006.
