Zhanping Wu Bio

Zhanping Wu, J.D., is a partner, general counsel, and chief compliance officer for Vivo Capital. Zhanping oversees the firm’s legal, compliance, and regulatory programs and also advises on fund formation, deal structuring and execution, post-investment management, and portfolio exits. Prior to joining Vivo Capital, Zhanping held the role of director and corporate counsel at FibroGen, Inc. (FGEN), a public biopharmaceutical company. Previously, she was an attorney in the Palo Alto office of Perkins Coie LLP, advising emerging and growth technology companies in formation, venture capital financings, M&A, public offerings, and technology transfer transactions. Zhanping received her B.A. in philosophy and completed her M.A in law from Peking University. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of California.
