Jamie Brown Bio

Jamie (aka “JB”) joined True Wind in 2025 as Chief Financial Officer, with 25+ years of experience in tax, finance, and investment management. He believes technology-focused investing sits within a unique intersection of innovation and impact, and is excited to be part of a firm that not only identifies transformative companies, but helps accelerate their growth. Prior to joining True Wind, Jamie was CFO & CCO at Nexus Capital Management where he built out his department to ensure smooth transitions regardless of the size or complexity of the fund or co-invest. Prior to Nexus, he was a Financial & Accounting Officer at Longtail Alpha. Before that, he partnered to launch the investment management firm Muddy Waters Capital where he was the CFO, COO & CCO. Prior to Muddy Waters, he was the Financial Controller and then CFO of Standard Pacific Capital, a global multi strategy hedge fund. Jamie holds a B.A. in Ancient History from Newcastle University, where he graduated with honors. He also holds undergraduate certificates in Early Medieval England and Medieval England from the University of Cambridge.
