Matt Malone Bio

Before founding Succession Capital Partners in 2009, Matt Malone spent three years as a Managing Director with Hunt Investment Corporation, the private-equity division of Hunt Consolidated, a diversified-holding company directed by Fortune 50 member, Ray L. Hunt. Mr. Malone opened and operated Hunt’s only investment office outside of Dallas, TX. Based in Charlotte, N.C., he focused on consumer products and retail investments. Mr. Malone was responsible for originating, executing, managing and harvesting portfolio company investments. Prior to joining Hunt Private Equity, Mr. Malone spent eight years as a Principal at Winston Partners, a private equity firm in the Washington, DC area owned by Marvin Bush. While at Winston, he focused on investments in consumer product, retail and niche manufacturing companies. Prior to joining Winston Partners, Mr. Malone was a Manager with Ernst & Young’s management consulting practice specializing in the introduction of strategic and financial improvement initiatives. He led the integration efforts of the NASDAQ’s acquisition of the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). Mr. Malone was a Rotary International Ambassadorial Fellow and graduated with a master’s degree in International Finance from Adam Smith School of Economics and Finance at University of Glasgow in Scotland. As an undergraduate, Mr. Malone graduated magna cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa designation from Hampden-Sydney College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics.
