James Gaven Bio

James Gaven joined SK Capital as General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer in 2022. Prior to joining SK Capital, Mr. Gaven spent over 11 years as Senior Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. In addition to his legal and compliance responsibilities at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, Mr. Gaven helped coordinate the firm’s ESG program. He has also served as an Advisor to Text IQ, a software company that utilizes Artificial Intelligence to assist in a variety of legal, compliance and privacy tasks. Previously, he worked at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Ramius LLC. Mr. Gaven hold a BA in Economics and Government from Wesleyan University and a JD from the University of Illinois.
