James Thomas Bio

James co-founded Phoenix in 2001 and was a Managing Partner until mid-2018, at which time he decided to focus more of his time on his charitable interests. He has twenty-five years’ experience as a private equity investor in the UK, before which he spent several years at SG Warburg. At Phoenix, he is a member of Phoenix’s Investment Committee and a director of Just Childcare. James is Chairman of Justice and Care, a charity that fights human trafficking and has operations in Asia and Europe.
