James Better Bio

Mr. Better joined Kohlberg as an Operating Partner in 2014. He is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nellson. He is responsible for investment thesis development, company diligence and portfolio company operations management in the Industrial and Consumer sectors. Prior to joining Kohlberg, Mr. Better enjoyed a 30-year career in a variety of consulting and operating roles at Capricorn Holdings, Celerant Consulting, McKinsey & Co. and Whitestone Corp. Mr. Better received a B.A. from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
