Carl Yost is the Chairman and CEO of GreenShoot Capital. Carl spent 25 years as a managing partner / senior executive in software, technology and the accounting profession, and has extensive experience in all phases of business, including M&A, fund-raising, strategy and operations. He currently serves as Chairman of Black Diamond Advisory, a GreenShoot portfolio company focused in the Corporate Performance Management Software industry. Carl was Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Technology Practice as well as the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Marketsphere Consulting. Under his leadership MarketSphere grew to 10 offices across the US and was one of the largest technology service firms in the industry. Carl led the successfully sale and integration of MarketSphere to Grant Thornton. He was a Managing Partner of the Performance Management practice of Arthur Andersen and held senior finance executive positions at Motorola and Wyeth. Carl has an MBA in Finance from University of Texas Graduate School of Business and a B.S. from the University of Missouri. He has invested in many high growth companies, including venture funds, and is a member of Charleston Angel Partners (CHAPS). Carl has a passion for his community and is a partner in Social Venture Partners and was board chair and national leadership council chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Carl and his wife Denise reside in Charleston, SC and have three children Bailey, Kenneth and Jackson.
