Mr. Sadeghi is the founder and Managing Partner of Equifin Capital, which has been making investments in the residential mortgage, commercial finance, consumer finance, and financial technology sectors since 1998. Mr. Sadeghi has led investments through financial cycles, in startups, turnarounds, and distress and growth special situations, including four companies that subsequently publicly listed their shares. Mr. Sadeghi has served as Chairman of Aames Financial Corporation and its successor Aames Investment Corporation, as Chairman of Newstar Financial Inc., as Chairman of Residential Credit Corporation and its successor RCIC Holdings, as a board member of Brookdale Living Communities, LoanTrader Inc., and Flagship Credit Corporation, and as a lead investor in Lending Tree, Inc. Mr. Sadeghi is an active investor in early stage finance, e-commerce, and business service companies and has backed SeedChange, Reachable, Plum Lending, Wayfare Interactive, Spotfront, Performance Sherpa, Holler Media, and a number of other private equity and real estate ventures through Equifin Capital Holdings, LLC. Prior to founding Equifin, Mr. Sadeghi was Group President of AT&T Capital Corporation, with profit and loss responsibility for commercial and consumer finance businesses with over $3 billion in assets. In 1996, he was a principal in the $900 million management-led buyout and take-private of AT&T Capital. Prior to AT&T Capital, he managed the Strategic Planning and Business Development group at GE Capital Corporation, and began his career with management consultancy Bain & Company in San Francisco, California. Mr. Sadeghi earned an MBA with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar, and earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in International Policy from Stanford University.
