Gautam Chhabra Bio

Gautam joined Downing in June 2022 as an Investment Director in the Development Capital team. He is responsible for deal origination and execution across various sectors, as well as ongoing portfolio management. Before Downing, Gautam was a Principal at May Capital for 9 years and worked on several complex transactions within the consumer, leisure and real estate sectors, with a particular focus on real-estate-backed operating businesses. He was formerly a director of Punch Taverns and Hawthorn Leisure and a board observer at the Laine Pub Company. Before May Capital, Gautam worked as an Associate in Lazard’s M&A team and as an Analyst in RBS’ and Merrill Lynch’s M&A teams.
