James Larsen Bio

Jim is an Operating Partner for Basalt and has over 30 years’ experience in power and utilities infrastructure with a track record in value creation and operational enhancement. Previously, Jim was the CEO of Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO), a portfolio company of Basalt’s first fund. Prior to joining UPPCO, Jim served as President of SEMCO Energy Gas Company (SEMCO). While at SEMCO, Jim also served on several company boards including Enstar Natural Gas, Alaska Pipeline Company, Hotflame Propane Company and Eaton Rapids Underground Natural Gas Storage. Jim also held a series of operational management positions at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory.
