Brian D. Jones, Partner and Director of BankCap Partners, has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. In 2005, he co-founded BankCap, a private equity firm focused on investments in U.S. banks. He is on the firm’s Investment Committee and focuses on transaction sourcing and structuring, capital raising activities and oversight of BankCap’s portfolio investments. Mr. Jones serves on the board of Bridgeview Bank Group in Chicago, IL and previously served on the public company boards of Atlantic Capital Bancshares in Atlanta, GA, and Xenith Bankshares in Richmond, VA. He is also Co-President of Archegos Capital Management in New York, NY. Mr. Jones worked as an investment banker at Bear Stearns & Co. from 1987-2002. Starting as an analyst, he rose to become Senior Managing Director in its Financial Institutions Group where he led a team and served in a trusted advisory capacity primarily to banks and specialty finance companies. Following Bear Stearns and before founding BankCap, Mr. Jones was Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy and M&A for a publicly-traded financial technology firm (later acquired by Fiserv). Mr. Jones received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Mr. Jones is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and has served on numerous non-profit boards. He enjoys tennis, skiing, travel, and fishing. He is married to his wife of 25+ years and they have six children. During his career, Mr. Jones has lived and worked in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. He and his family currently reside in New York City.
