Helen joined Atlantic Bridge in 2015 on our University Bridge Fund. At Atlantic Bridge, Helen leads investing in early stage deeptech companies. With a strong track record built over 15 years, Helen has successfully sourced and financed over 40 deep tech ventures including notable Irish companies: Neurent Medical, Equal1, Siren, Output Sports, Proverum Medical, Plasmabound and Manna. Companies from Atlantic Bridge’s early stage portfolio have to date raised over €700m and continue to grow and scale globally. Helen is on the board of many venture backed companies and chairs the Governance Committee of IPIC , a Science Foundation Ireland Centre for photonics. Helen is both mentor and advisor to organisations including Knowledge Transfer Ireland, IVCA, UCD VentureLaunch, Start100 and is a prior VP at TechTour. Passionate about encouraging young people’s involvement in STEM, Helen is board member of the education focused non-profit, Kinia, and is a judge at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Competition. Helen is listed as one of the Top 100 Women in STEM in Ireland and is a Kauffman Fellow. Helen was awarded a 1st Class Hons. Electronic Engineering Degree (UCD) and a PhD (The University of Edinburgh) in the area of AI based conversational agents and multimodal interfaces.
