Kurt Håkansson Bio

Kurt works closely with Ancala’s portfolio companies to mentor their senior management teams, guide their value creation plans, unlock opportunities and mitigate risks. He also contributes to Ancala’s origination activity. He joined Ancala in 2017 and has more than 40 years’ engineering experience working with various multinational industrial companies. He is a member of Ancala’s investment and valuation committees. Before Ancala, Kurt was the Chairman of Coromatic, a Nordic data centre solution provider owned by EQT; Tiama, a French high-tech company owned by EQT; and, Adven, a Finish advanced energy solutions provider. He was also a Board Member of Swedegas, the Swedish gas grid owner, for six years. Kurt has also served as Executive Vice President of Systems Business for Areva (formerly Alstom Transmission and Distribution) where he was a member of the executive committee and had global responsibility for the systems business with a turnover of €1.2bn. Between 1975 and 2001, Kurt rose to Global Head of Alternative Energy Systems at ABB Group (formerly ASEA) where he was responsible for the development of new business within alternative energy in high growth areas resulting in a JV with Volvo on micro-turbines.
