Frank Herr Bio

Frank is an Operating Partner on AEA’s Middle Market Private Equity team. In his role, Frank is primarily focused on AEA’s portfolio companies in the industrial sector to improve value creation. Prior to joining AEA in 2014, Frank spent 11 years with Eaton Corp, as general manager of Eaton’s Hydraulics business in Greater China region and Power Distribution business in North Asia. Frank also previously served as Managing Director China for Arvin Meritor, a major automotive and commercial vehicle supplier, and led the setup of two joint ventures with key original equipment manufacturers as well as the establishment of a wholly owned business in China. Frank earned a B.S. in engineering mechanics from Tsinghua University. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
