J. Alden English practices in the areas of corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, bank and private equity finance, and real estate transactions. Alden represents companies and individuals in a variety of transactions, including contract negotiations, real estate development and leasing, private equity investments, and historic tax credit financing. The long-time Charlottesville resident is active in a number of community organizations, including the Public Education Foundation of Charlottesville-Albemarle, UVA Health Foundation, Paramount Theater, and The Ivy Foundation, which supports the University of Virginia. Alden earned both his law degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. Alden is recognized by Virginia Business magazine as a Legal Elite and is listed among the Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law. He was ranked a Rising Star by Virginia Super Lawyers.
