Said Hanafi Bio

Said Hanafi is a partner of MHR & Partners in association with White & Case. He focuses on general corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. Said is also experienced in legal disputes and complex negotiations with government authorities. Prior to joining the Firm, Said was General Counsel of Orascom Development Holdings (ODH). He has also worked as a Legal Associate at The World Bank Group, as Policy Analyst at the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and started his career as a lawyer with a Munich based law firm focusing on the Middle East. Said also held the position of executive Chairman of Orascom Housing Communities, Egypt's largest private developer of low income housing. He also held positions of Corporate Counsel at Ezz Steel, Vice President for Legal Affairs of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, the Secretary General of the French Chamber of Commerce and Adjunct Professor of business law at the American University in Cairo.
