James Davis Bio

Jim’s practice focuses on private equity buyouts and strategic M&A, with broad experience representing private equity funds, their portfolio companies and other corporate clients. Jim regularly represents clients in transactions across a number of industries, including software, business and financial services, media and healthcare. Clients describe him as “phenomenal” and “an extremely strong technical lawyer.” A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, Jim is based out of Chicago and regularly works with a variety of internationally-known sponsors, among other clients. Jim is active in pro bono representations and was honored by Legal Aid Chicago as a 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
