David advises on tax issues arising in domestic and cross-border venture capital, private equity, M&A and real estate transactions as well as private fund formations. His experience includes advising private equity, credit, hedge, real estate, angel and infrastructure funds, public and private companies, U.S. and non-U.S. institutional, corporate and individual investors, fund managers and family offices. David serves on the governing board of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Taxation, an organization of over 11,000 lawyers, academics and law students. He is an Adjunct Professor at the New York University School of Law (Graduate Tax Program) and a Fellow with the American Bar Foundation. David previously served as Chair of the ABA Section of Taxation’s Investment Management Committee and Private Funds Forum. He serves on the Board of Directors of Settlement Housing Fund Inc., a non-profit affordable housing development corporation, as well as the Board of Directors of Coqual Inc., a global think-tank and research organization that helps companies redesign how they work and lead. He is a frequent speaker at bar association and industry conferences, including those sponsored by the American Bar Association, International Bar Association, Managed Funds Association, Investment Company Institute and Harvard Business School. David earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a BS in Accounting from the University of New Orleans. In addition to holding licenses as an attorney, David is licensed as a certified public accountant.
