Manoj Purush Bio

Manoj is a corporate partner specialising in M&A and private equity and has more than 18 years of transactional experience in most of the South and South East Asian countries, including Singapore, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Lao PDR and Cambodia. Manoj focuses on cross-border M&A, private equity, debt and equity restructurings, various forms of foreign direct investment and numerous other commercial transactions. Manoj also regularly advises multinational corporations on bribery and corruption matters as well as regional labour and employment issues arising from restructuring and reorganisation, mergers, acquisitions, divestments and post-acquisition integration. He has worked on matters involving a number of different sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, banking, auto-finance, telecommunications, textile, pulp and paper, timber and trading. Having worked on cross-border deals in Asia with a number of U.S. and European clients, Manoj is able to efficiently blend western commercial product knowledge with local market experience for his clients. Manoj’s practice in Myanmar is ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500, with clients commenting that he is “versatile and thoughtful; very commercial and strategic”. Manoj graduated from the University of Bristol (United Kingdom) and is qualified as an English solicitor and a Singapore advocate and solicitor. Manoj is fluent in Malay and Bahasa Indonesia.
