Gianluigi Esposito is a corporate attorney specializing in mid-market mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general counsel services for U.S. subsidiaries of Italian and European companies, as well as U.S. portfolio companies owned by foreign private equity firms. He leads multidisciplinary teams handling litigation, arbitration, bankruptcy, employment, and IP matters. His transactional work includes business formation, start-up funding, governance, licensing, and distribution agreements. Gianluigi has deep industry experience across technology, high-tech machinery, packaging, real estate, architecture, construction, automotive, life sciences, fashion, food, hospitality, and non-profits. A native of Italy, he earned his law degree from the University of Bologna and an LL.M. in Common Law Studies from Georgetown University as a Fulbright Scholar. In 2003, he founded the New York office of Chiomenti Studio Legale – one of Italy’s top corporate law firms – in collaboration with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He received the Fulbright Award for Global Business Diplomacy in 2013 and has served on the NYC Bar’s Fashion Law Committee, the European Law Alumni Board of Georgetown, and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce. Gianluigi is admitted to practice in both Italy and New York and is fluent in Italian, English, French, and Spanish.
