Diego Matamoros Bio

Diego Matamoros is a hands-on corporate attorney with a broad range of experience and a particular focus on private investment funds and middle-market M&A transactions. As a private funds attorney, Diego works closely with sponsors through all stages of formation, management, and exits from US and offshore private investment funds. His approach emphasizes building long-term working relationships with anchor investors and their counsel, and addressing diverse economic, regulatory, and structuring requirements. On a day-to-day basis, he provides real-time support to existing fund clients in connection with acquisitions, capital calls, corporate governance, and portfolio-company matters. In the M&A space, Diego has acted as the lead attorney on numerous private-company M&A asset deals ranging in size from under $1 million to $250+ million, with experience guiding both buyers and sellers through all phases of a transaction. Diego also supports his clients in connection with key strategic needs, including complex joint ventures, executive employment agreements, acquisition finance and other significant commercial transactions. Diego is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French, and leverages his international experience and language skills to support his clients in cross-border transactions. Before law school, he worked as a professional opera singer, and was privileged to perform as a soloist in some of the world’s top opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Turin Royal Opera in Italy.
