Juan Carlos Aquino-Vidal Bio

His practice focuses on advising clients on corporate, commercial and real estate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, project financing and development, equity and debt financing, commercial lending, structured finance and secured transactions. His transaction experience in M&A and finance transaction includes work in a wide array of industries ranging from health care, logistics, consumer goods, telecommunications, hospitality, energy to education. From inception and initial due diligence up until its consummation at closing, he provides counseling and advise in all stages of a transaction. Mr. Aquino-Vidal, who has served as corporate secretary to the audit committees of various investment companies duly registered in the Office of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions (OCFI), also provides advice on corporate governance matters and on trust and estate planning matters - including providing legal advice to Act 60 resident investors in the structuring, drafting and execution of their respective trust and estate planning documents. Prior to joining McConnell Valdés, Mr. Aquino-Vidal worked at the San Juan office of an AM Law 100 law firm where he has able to gain significant experience in a number of cross-border and international M&A and finance transactions, with a particular focus in the Caribbean (e.g. Dominican Republic) and Latin America (e.g. Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Panama, Mexico and Argentina). He has also served as counsel to Fortune 500 companies (including a Fortune 10 company) in providing legal advice with respect to doing business in Puerto Rico. He started his career at a corporate and real estate law firm in San Juan, representing a wide array of clients, including, government entities, local businesses and private equity funds based in the United States, in a number of corporate matters and transactions.
