Leah Petersen Bio

Leah Petersen is a member of the firm’s commercial finance team. She assists clients in a broad spectrum of financing transactions, ranging from widely syndicated to single-lender and club deals. Her clients include financial institutions, private equity groups, venture capital funds, and corporate borrowers. Leah has extensive experience with acquisition financings, asset-based lending, and mezzanine/second lien structures. She also regularly represents clients in cross-border transactions. Leah handles all aspects of credit facilities involving bridge loans, note purchase investments, work-outs, and recapitalizations. In addition to her finance work, Leah also advises clients on general operational, fund formation, and corporate governance issues. Prior to joining the firm, Leah was a managing associate in the Atlanta, Georgia office of an international law firm where she represented companies, private equity groups, and other financial institutions in a variety of corporate finance transactions. Prior to attending law school, Leah served as a Project Coordinator for Spirit of the Sun, an AmeriCorps Service to America (VISTA) program, that addresses three AmeriCorps' focus areas — environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, and healthy futures — and serves both Native and Indigenous youth and elders, while encouraging inter-generational collaboration. Leah was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® in 2026 for Banking and Finance Law.
