Dr. Jan Philipp Feigen is a partner at Hogan Lovells' Hamburg office and leads the firm's German Private Equity practice from there. He is also part of the global Private Equity Leadership Team. Feigen advises international and national clients on transactions in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate law matters. His focus lies on advising clients in connection with private equity transactions. He began his legal career in 2011 at Latham & Watkins in Hamburg and also worked in their Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Los Angeles offices during secondments. In 2018, he joined EY Law, where he led the global M&A and Private Equity practice starting in 2021. Feigen was recognized as a “Rising Star in Private Equity” by Juve in 2024 and has been consistently listed as “frequently recommended” in the Juve Handbook since 2020/2021. WirtschaftsWoche has continuously recognized him as one of Germany’s “most renowned M&A lawyers” since 2019, and Handelsblatt has included him for many years as one of Germany’s “Best Lawyers” in the fields of Private Equity, M&A, and corporate law.
