Audrey Lane engages in a nationwide practice on a broad range of rail-related issues, focusing her practice on commercial matters and the business of railroading and railroad-related services. Audrey regularly negotiates railroad commercial transactions, including transportation and operating agreements, joint facility trans-loading endeavors, and other ancillary services arrangements aimed at leveraging property usage and resources. Audrey also has significant experience managing acquisitions and mergers involving railroads and related entities. In addition to commercial work, Audrey has experience representing employers in labor matters governed by the Railway Labor Act as well as representing carriers in collective bargaining negotiations and arbitrations before the National Railroad Adjustment Board and various public law boards. Audrey regularly represents clients before the Surface Transportation Board, the Railroad Retirement Board, the Federal Railroad Administration, and various state agencies with regulatory authority over certain aspects of railroading and rail operations, including the Illinois Commerce Commission and the Wisconsin Commissioner of Railroads. She also has experience litigating matters in both state and federal courts. Audrey works with clients to navigate both disputes and joint efforts with governmental bodies related to private rail operation of public properties, commuter systems, and related commuter rail contract operations. Prior to joining Fletcher & Sippel, Audrey worked at Freeborn & Peters, LLP in Chicago, where she practiced in both state and federal courts in the areas of commercial litigation, employment law, and government relations.
