Julien Bourgeois Bio

Julien Bourgeois is a partner in Dentons’ Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies group and is the lead of the Mergers and Acquisitions group the Ottawa office. He practices corporate and securities law with a particular focus on venture capital fund formations, venture capital investment transactions, emerging companies and private mergers and acquisitions. Julien’s practice focuses on all aspects of the formation, operation, and ongoing maintenance of venture capital funds but Julien has a passion for working with managers in forming early-stage venture capital funds. In addition, Julien serves as a trusted advisor to venture capital funds, angel, strategic and institutional investors, in both their direct and secondary market investment transactions and provides strategic counsel to numerous emerging growth companies, serving as their external corporate counsel in financing endeavors and offering insights into general business and corporate law matters. Julien also has extensive experience advising on cross-border acquisitions, having worked on an array of asset sales, share sales, amalgamations, secondary sales, and corporate and tax reorganizations from both the buy-side and the sell-side perspectives.
