David Debenedetti specializes in issues related to M&A, investment funds and hedge funds, with a sub-specialty in special situation investments. He also deals with planning and implementing investments, specifically in their cross-border aspects. He has extensive experience in working on multi-faceted strategies involving litigation and transactional expertise, since for many years he has been advising hedge funds that invest in entities in difficult situations, helping them to resolve a range of problems. For some time, David DeBenedetti cooperated with the Lazarski School of Commerce and Law, where he taught seminars to post-graduate students. He taught the L.L.M. students of the Boston University/Lazarski LLM program as an adjunct professor. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for a program offering an LLM in International Business Practice of the Center for International Legal Studies in Salzburg. Since 2022 he has been teaching the Leadership Program students in the SWPS University. An attorney of the State of New York since 2001, entered on the list of foreign lawyers at the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw and on the list of arbitrators at the Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Commerce since 2010. Between 1997 – 2004, he cooperated with the Warsaw and New York offices of an international law firm. He has spoken at a number of international meetings and conferences, mainly in New York and Japan. Since 2015, David DeBenedetti has been a member of the board of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, and advises Japanese clients on investing and other issues related to business in Poland. Chairman of the supervisory board of Octava S.A., a publicly traded real estate fund. Member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association and, from 2017, also on the Board of Directors of Globalaw. In 2023 he was elected the Secretary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, he was a co-founder of the Corporate Aid for Ukraine initiative. He graduated from the University of Toledo (B.A. cum laude 1991) and from Georgetown University Law School (J.D. 1996).
