Sophie Payne Bio

Sophie is a Partner in the Corporate team. She acts for a variety of clients from owner-managed businesses to large groups of companies advising on a wide range of corporate matters including business and share acquisitions and disposals, internal group re-organisations and management buy-outs, joint ventures, private equity investment, shareholders’ agreements, share buy-backs, capital reductions, share option schemes and general corporate governance matters. Sophie also advises banks, companies and individuals on lending and security arrangements and has advised a number of charities on amending their governing documents and incorporating as companies limited by guarantee or charitable incorporated organisations. Most notably Sophie has advised on a number of MBOs (including those backed by LDC and Inflexion Private Equity), the disposal of an international group of companies with a deal value in excess of £90m and the restructuring of over £50m worth of inter-company debt.
