Leanne Fredericks Bio

Leanne has been working with derivatives for over fifteen years, and currently heads Riverside Accounting Solutions. Leanne works with the firm’s corporate, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure and project finance clients on the education, implementation, and ongoing support related to accounting for derivatives. She frequently consults on complex accounting matters related to hedging, and provides teach-ins to clients, auditors, and lawyers on the economics and accounting of derivatives. Leanne also works with the firm’s clients to negotiate and execute interest rate and foreign currency hedging transactions. Prior to Riverside, Leanne was the Treasurer at BNC Bancorp, responsible for interest rate risk management, liquidity and funding management, and the bank’s derivative programs. She developed a centralized platform that significantly expanded the bank’s derivatives advisory services for commercial real estate clients, and worked with clients on the structuring and implementation of risk management programs, including valuation and accounting. Leanne gained broad experience working with both auditors and regulators on accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory matters. She was also responsible for pro forma balance sheet modeling and analysis of institutions targeted for acquisition; she contributed to BNCN’s successful consolidation of nine institutions since 2013. Leanne began her career at Sandler O’Neill & Partners in New York, working with community banks on strategy development, including interest rate risk management, investment portfolio strategy, retail and wholesale funding management, liquidity planning, derivatives strategy, M&A strategy, and stress testing. She spent two years on the Interest Rate Products Desk, structuring and executing hedge transactions for community bank clients. Leanne holds a Masters of Accounting from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Lafayette College. Leanne is a Certified Public Accountant.
